PORTFOLIO
Lake Como Vista
"Lake Como Vista" masterfully explores distance and perspective, drawing the viewer deep into the serene beauty of Italy's iconic lake. In the foreground, vibrant red poppies sway gently, their bold hues and intricate details anchoring the composition with immediate tactile intimacy.
Lights of Venice
"Lights of Venice" immerses the viewer in the enchanting nightlife along the city's iconic waterways after dark. Graceful gondolas glide silently across the inky black canals, ferrying families and friends toward warmly illuminated restaurants and lively entertainment venues lining the shores, evoking a sense of joyful camaraderie and timeless romance. As a masterful study in light and dark,
Butchart gardens
"The Garden of Butchart" transports the viewer into the magical splendor of Canada's national historic site, The Butchart Gardens in British Columbia. In the foreground, vibrant flowers and meticulously manicured ornamental shrubs burst with breathtaking color and intricate detail, inviting a sense of intimate discovery along the winding, enchanted paths where visitors stroll in quiet wonder. As a masterful study of distance, the composition draws the eye upward across a gently rising hillside to the majestic treeline in the far background, where towering trees frame the scene in soft, atmospheric hues, creating layers of depth and a profound feeling of immersion in nature's grandeur.
Silk
"Silk" vividly captures the essence of a silk scarf vendor amid the bustling streets of Florence, Italy. The composition centers on the vendor's enticing display, where an array of scarves in a dazzling spectrum of colors—rich reds, deep blues, sunny yellows, and soft pastels—cascade and drape in luxurious folds, their lightweight materials flowing with an almost ethereal grace that suggests a gentle breeze.
Casey’s Graduation
This picture is about ten years old but remains one of my favorites, at my daughter’s graduation. It’s my first attempt at doing a portrait, which was somewhat terrifying, but I’m happy with the result!
What’s Next?
I had mentioned earlier that my next piece was going to be a classic landscape painting of New England—maybe a serene seashore scene with crashing waves and rocky coasts.
Plans change, though—and I'm thrilled about the new direction! I'm currently experimenting with layered oil paint combined with resin to create that stunning glossy, almost three-dimensional effect. The depth and shine this technique produces is addictive, and it opens up so many possibilities for making the artwork feel alive and immersive. The first painting in this style will be an action-packed, vibrant scene of people dancing at a lively party in the Dominican Republic—full of energy, movement, rhythm, and celebration. Think colorful outfits, joyful expressions, and that infectious Caribbean vibe captured on canvas. I'll be sharing progress shots, process details, and the finished piece as it comes together—so stay tuned for updates! I’m also exploring print offerings of my work on premium materials:
Canvas (classic and textured)
Metal (sleek, modern, with incredible vibrancy)
Acrylic (ultra-glossy and contemporary)
These will be available in a variety of selected sizes to suit different spaces and budgets. More details coming soon—watch this space! Thanks for following along on this creative journey. Your support means the world!
